The Pride Alliance envisions a TAMU-CC where LGBTQIAP2S+ students feel safe to celebrate and express their sexual orientation and gender identity; where discrimination in all of its forms is challenged; where education inspires social justice and a continuation of the fight for civil rights.

Mission:

"Queering the Island" is a faculty speaker series aimed at providing LGBTQ+ faculty members or faculty members who have done LGBTQ+ related research an outlet to come and present their work to the student populace. The series is in the style of a brown bag-dinner, where audience members bring their own dinner. The faculty member will present their work and then the audience members will be able to discuss the research with the faculty member.

"Queering the Island"

The Pride Alliance was created out of a need to have a place of support and education for the LGBTQ+ community here at Texas A&M- Corpus Christi. The Pride Alliance's argument is, "The best activist is a knowledgeable one."

Who we are:

The mission of the Pride Alliance is to provide friendship, support, and a safe space to all students who identify as, but most certainly not limited to, LGBTQIAP2S+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Pansexual, Polysexual, Two-Spirit). We also aim to empower people to support themselves and others at Texas A&M- Corpus Christi through outreach, activism, and education.

We cannot achieve this without being intersectional. We realize that everybody has multifaceted identities (race, class, etc), and it is important to recognize the ways our identities can intersect with each other and the unique challenges they create.
